Altai - ancestral home to civilizations, int'l conference of Turkic nations

KAZINFORM /Lyudmila Malko/ The 1st international forum "Altai - the cradle of Turkic civilization" has started its work today in Ust Kamenogorskб involving scientists and experts, linguists, archeologists and ethnographers from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, the US, Azerbaijan, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Korea and so on.
Representative of the Kazakh President's Administration D.Mynbai read the greeting of Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed to the participants.
At the plenary and sectroal sessions above 56 reports on historic and archeological, cultural and civilizational and ecological problems of Altai within the global cultural space were listened to.
The gathered debate further turcology and altaistic issues, history and archeology since the ancient times up to present, literary studies and modern linguistics, cultural studies and philosophy, natural science and environment.
