Almost 100 under-age committed suicide across Kazakhstan since the beginning of year

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Almost 100 minors committed suicide since the beginning of the year across the country, the Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office told Kazinform.

For the past six months of 2014 the number of suicide deaths among the under-age decreased to 98 cases against 131 in 2013 and the number of suicide attempts dropped to 255 against 319 recorded last year.

A lack of parental attention could be to be blame.

There are 187 interdepartmental working groups were set up across Kazakhstan to respond and render psychological assistance to prevent suicidal behavior among children and youths.
