Almaty to host OSCE informal ministerial meeting July 16-17

TASHKENT. July 9. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ On July 16-17 Almaty will host an informal ministerial meeting of the OSCE, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin said at a briefing today.

"The agenda of the meeting includes the following issues: first, promotion of the Corfu process within ensuring single and indivisible security on the OSCE space. We suppose that the notion of security is not limited to continental borders and covers the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian spaces", B. Zheksembin noted.

The second issue is stabilization of the Afghan situation which is viewed through the prism of global security including the fight with international terrorism, religious extremism and drug-trafficking.

Thirdly, these are tense in Kyrgyzstan challenging the OSCE and other international structures as well as development of a consolidated position on providing all-round assistance to the multinational Kyrgyzstan.

"The long-term stability and sustainable political development of the Kyrgyz Republic is impossible without elaboration of a strategic program of economic development. This document could be developed in collaboration with the Kyrgyz side within the OSCE. Kazakhstan is ready to help in development and implementation of such economic strategy", the Diplomat added.
