Almaty Puppet Theater wins Grand Prix at International Festival in Canada
Last year became a year of international recognition for the State Puppet Theater of Kazakhstan. The theater won the top award at the International Puppet Festival in Canada, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The theater was honored with the "Best Director's Idea" award at the festival in Georgia, and received a special diploma at the Belarus festival "Lyalki nad Nemanom" (Moppets over the Neman River). These achievements are a testament to the high caliber of Kazakhstani puppet art.
“This is the result of tremendous efforts of the entire team. We are happy that our art pushes the boundaries getting to a global level and is admired not only by Kazakhstani viewers, but abroad. We also want Almaty to become a meeting point of the best puppet theaters from all over the world,” said theater director Almat Amangeldy.
Recall, the Almaty State Puppet Theater will celebrate its 90th anniversary this year.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan has declared September 3 the Tazy and Tobet Dogs Day.
