Almaty-Minsk flight expected to help increase mutual tourist flow

MINSK. KAZINFORM - The availability of the Almaty-Minsk flight will help increase the tourist flow between the two countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov told reporters on 16 December at a press conference timed to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan, BelTA has learned.

"Both Belarus and Kazakhstan have many places that could draw a great number of tourists. In order to boost the tourist flow between our countries, we are considering new flights, in particular, the Almaty-Minsk flight," Yergali Bulegenov said.

At present regular flights between Astana and Minsk are available every day, while two years ago there were only two flights per week. "Now these flights are operated every day and airplanes are full. Therefore, we would like to arrange flights from the south of Kazakhstan, the city of Almaty," the ambassador said. He expressed confidence that the plans will be materialized, which will contribute to the increase in the mutual tourist flow, BelTA reports.

According to Yergali Bulegenov, Kazakhstanis who have been to Belarus at least once recommend their relatives and friends to visit the country. He noted that Kazakhstan is home to a big community of Belarusians - about 100,000 people. "They have relatives here, in Belarus, and they travel to see each other. This is also part of our considerations," the diplomat added.
