Almaty marks 155th anniversary of city

Akim of the city Akhmetzhan Yessimov congratulated all citizens and guests of Almaty. In his speech the Mayor pointed out dynamic development of the city, its importance in the national scale. "Almaty is a special city with its old history, natural landscapes, spiritual-cultural energy and inimitative atmosphere", A. Yessimov said.

This year Almaty marks its 155^th anniversary. However, according to modern archeologists the history of Almaty covers around 2, 000 years.
