ALMATY. February 10. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ The last year was difficult, but the city of Almaty demonstrated the economy's stability and the residents' unity in overcoming difficulties.
Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov has announced it at the reporting meeting with the Almaty residents on Wednesday, February 10.
"Today Almaty is the most significant region of the country, playing the role of a financial, cultural, tourist and educational center and ensuring one-fifth of the GDP, one third of tax revenues, nine percent of all investments", A.Yessimov said.
"This shows, that our city is a key region in the country, its economy is competitive and based on the multi-industry sector of entrepreneurship", the Mayor noted.
