Almaty and Mangystau regions welcome gubernatorial elections

"Some of the candidates currently hold the positions of akims. Out of 94, only 47 elects will be chosen to run the districts," said Chairman of the Mangystau Regional Election Committee Essen Kumiskali.

Almaty region has also welcomed the start of the gubernatorial elections this morning. Only 259 candidates out of 771 running for the office are to be elected. It is worth mentioning that majority of current akims are participating in the elections.
