Allocation of additional educational grants and loans discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. March 17. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ A conference devoted to the issues of providing additional educational grants and long-term cheap loans for Almaty universities has been held in the south capital of Kazakhstan today.
Almaty Akim Akhemtzhan Yessimov, Chairman of SamrukKazyna National Welfare Fund Kairat Kelimbetov and university principals took part in the conference. As per the assignment of President Nursultan Nazarbayev the Fund has allocated funds for 40 000 credits through Alliance Bank JSC for the students studying on a fee basis.
University principals made several proposals on expansion of the lending program, in particular, to lower the rate and remove restrictions for some specialties and categories.
In reply A. Yessimov and K. Kelimbetov assured that the proposals would be processed and submitted for the Government?s consideration.
