Aktau to build dry bulk terminals
ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Construction of three dry bulk terminals will start in the Aktau seaport until this July in an effort to extend its capacity," head of the transport committee of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Kazakhstan Asset Assavbayev said a press conference in Astana.
According to him, the Ministry works at attracting foreign investments into the construction of terminals through setting up joint ventures. Last November the Ministry signed a memo of understanding with Australian Company IPD. It stipulates the principal provisions for establishing the joint venture. The parties already signed the articles of incorporation in February. As earlier reported, with a view to diversify export of Kazakhstan-made goods and strengthen its transit potential the country takes certain measures, develops new transport and logistics routes in southern, western and eastern directions.
