Akmola region has potential to increase food production - B.Sagintayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Government group headed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has paid a working visit to Akmola region, the press service of the regional Akim reports.

In Burabay district B.Sagintayev inspected construction of a boiler-house, sewage facilities, rehabilitation and building of road networks. In Zerendiskoye district the Government group visited "Milk Project" LLP. Last year, the company produced 5.68 million liters of dairy products. In the regional center B.Sagintayev visited "Kokshetau Zhylu" Municipal Utility Service, "Enki" LLP and "Agrimer Astyk" LLP. Results of the working trip were discussed at the meeting, the main topic of which was the development of agricultural products processing in the region. Bakytzshan Sagintayev said that at the enlarged meeting of the Government in October last year, the President instructed until July 1, 2014 to take actions on agricultural processing enterprises' process utilization, providing them with domestic raw materials. By the end of 2013 volume of food production in the region amounted to 37.8 billion, or 3.9 % of the national volume of food. Grain processing was 10 %, milk -28%, meat -16%. "The region has the potential to increase production of food, which, in turn, will allow us to implement the President's instructions on domestic food market saturation with 80 % of domestic products", said B.Sagintayev.
