Akmola region harvests nearly 5M tons of crops in 2014

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Agricultural producers of Akmola region have harvested 5 million tons of crops this year, governor of the region Sergei Kulagin announced at a Tuesday press conference in Astana.
"Despite inclement weather, our agricultural producers have harvested nearly 5 million tons of crops in 2014," Mr. Kulagin said at the press conference held at KazMedia Center. According to him, agriculture is one of the most strategically important sectors in the region's economy. For instance, the region produces approximately quarter of the nationwide volume of milling wheat.
