Akim: Electricity consumption annually grows by 10% in Astana
ASTANA. December 27. KAZINFORM - Electricity consumption in Astana is growing every year by 10 percent, stated today at the press conference in the office of the Central Communications Service Mayor of Kazakhstan's capital Imangali Tasmagambetov.
"I note that prior to commissioning of the first phase of the 220 kV overhead line ring, its capacity was 450 MW. The dynamics shows that the annual growth of electricity consumption in the city averages 10 percent. So, if in 2011 it was 490 MW, then in 2012 the capital consumed 584 MW of electricity," said Akim.
According to the mayor, after commissioning the ring of 220 kV electrical network bandwidth has expanded to 880 MW, with 610 MW planned consumption .
"So now the city has sufficient capacity for uninterrupted supply of heat and electricity," concluded the mayor.
