Airplane with ice hockey team overruns runway in Saransk

MOSCOW. January 9. KAZINFORM An airplane An-24 with a Russian ice hockey team onboard overrun the runway in Saransk, no one was injured in the incident, the Mordovia emergency situation department told on Wednesday.

"On January 9, the passenger airplane An-24, which was on the Krasnodar-Saransk-Kazan flight, overran the runway by 30 meters in the landing at the Saransk airport. The crew and the ice hockey team were onboard the airplane. A total of 29 people were onboard the airplane," the republican emergencies department said, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

No one was injured in the incident, the department said. The passengers flied to Kazan in another flight.
