Air crash investigations to have common approach – CIS experts

SAINT-PETERSBURG. July 27. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ The CIS experts have coordinated the Draft Agreement on cooperation on air crash investigation of the state aircrafts of the CIS countries; Kazinform reports.

The session of the expert group was held in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk. Representatives of a number of republics as Armenia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia and Kyrgyzstan took part in the session.

The Draft Agreement is aimed at promotion of common approach in organization of the air crash investigation with state aircrafts one of the CIS countries on the territory of another CIS country.  

The Rules for air crash investigations of the state aircrafts of the CIS countries are applied to the Agreement. They cover the definition and classification of the air crashes, order of investigation, degree of participation of plenipotentiaries and their advisers in this work. The rules also regulate the disclosure policy on incident.

The Draft Agreement will be brought in by the CIS Council of Defense Ministers for consideration at regular session of the Council of the CIS Prime Ministers.
