Agribusiness Association set up in Customs Union

MOSCOW. October 17. KAZINFORM An Agribusiness Association has been set up in the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan. The foundation meeting of this non-profit organization took place in Moscow on 14 October, BelTA has learned.

The association will focus on harmonizing the agribusiness policy on the common market, ensuring food security and keeping the domestic market stable. It will also take care of common interests on external markets. The organization has been founded by leading industry unions and associations and major agribusiness corporations of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Board of the National Dairy Producers Union of Russia (Souzmoloko) Andrei Danilenko has been elected Chairman of the Board of the Agribusiness Association of the Customs Union. The Supervisory Board will be headed by Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik. Director General of ZAO Meat Dairy Company Yakov Pustoshilo and Director General of Grodnomyasomolprom Yuri Shuleiko represent Belarus in the Supervisory Board; Kazinform refers to BelTA.
