Agr't with EBRD on loan for Tashkent-Shymkent highway reconstruction ratified
ASTANA. June 20. KAZINFORM - The Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the plenary session has adopted the Law "On Ratification of the Loan Agreement (Reconstruction of Shymkent - Tashkent road) between Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development".
In accordance with the Document the loan of 142 million dollars is provided to Kazakhstan by EBRD. The maturity of the loan is 18 years, including a four-year grace period. The funds will be used to finance the reconstruction of the road with a length of 62 kilometers of the first technical category with cement concrete pavement between the border post called "Silk Way" on the border with Uzbekistan and at 742 km of Tashkent-Shymkent road .
Co-financing of the Government of Kazakhstan does not exceed USD 34.7 million. Republican budget funds will be used to co-finance construction works and tax payments.
