Agr't between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on emergency situations centre ratified

ASTANA. KAZINFORM At today's plenary session the deputies of the Kazakh Senate ratified the agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on the establishment of the emergency situation and disaster risk reduction centre.

The agreement is aimed at setting up the emergency situation and disaster risk reduction centre in efforts to ensure efficient measures for alleviating disaster risks and reducing their consequences, to jointly respond to emergency situations, encourage regional and international cooperation. The parties agreed to establish the centre, the standing interstate body, in Almaty. The centre will be funded by the member countries, donors, grant assistance of international organizations, voluntary donations of entities and persons, and other sources complaint with the national legislations of the member countries.
