Agence France Presse: Nursultan Nazarbayev is leader the world should model itself on
ASTANA. April 15. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev's participation in the Global Nuclear Security Summit on April 12-13 attracted great attention from the side of leading world mass media.
Thus, the Agence France Presse (AFP) published an article about Kazakhstan and its Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev. The article reads: "Nursultan Nazarbayev is the leader the world should model itself on. Washington commended Kazakhstan which had voluntarily renounced its part of nuclear arsenal as the country which benefited from full nuclear disarmament. This must become a final goal for the entire world, Barack Obama said".
"Therefore we decided to withdraw our nuclear arsenal which was the fourth largest one in the world. Therefore we call on other countries to follow us, since there is no alternative to peaceful world", the Agency cites N. Nazarbayev.
Advisor of the White House Mike McFall said that U.S. President B. Obama characterized N. Nazarbayev as the Leader the world should follow in nuclear security and added that the Nuclear Security Summit would have not taken place without his participation.
M. McFall notes that having renounced nuclear weapons Kazakhstan became open for international economy.
The Presidents confirmed importance of long-term energy partnership between two countries, the joint communiqué reads. "The United States of America welcome Kazakhstan as a leading world producer of uranium which is important for diversification of global deliveries of energy resources", the Agence France Presse highlights.
