Aftershocks continue to rattle Italian disaster region

ROME. April 9. KAZINFORM. A 5.3 magnitude tremor hit central Italy's Abruzzo region, where 272 people died following Monday's powerful quake, early Thursday, causing concern among rescue workers involved in the clear up operation; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

Local police said there were no casualties following the latest series of aftershocks. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who has already paid three visits to the badly-affected medieval town of L'Aquila, said 28,000 people had been made homeless.
