Above 1,000 kids with congenital heart diseases performed operations in Zhambyl rgn

TARAZ. KAZINFORM Above 60% of the patients of the National Cardiac Surgery and Organ Transplant Centre of Taraz are children with congenital heart diseases (CHD), its press service said.
Above 1,000 children with congenital heart defects were performed heart surgeries since the foundation of the centre in 2008. The centre day-and-night helps pregnant women, infants, children and youth. About 250-400 out of 25,000 infants born there every year are diagnosed with congenital heart diseases. There are more than 300 reasons causes the development of CHD and only 5% of them are stipulated by gene mutations.
