About 8 000 violations of Driving regulations suppressed in Astana over the week
ASTANA. October 29. KAZINFORM - Operational preventive procedure “Safe road” held from 21 to 27 of October completed in Astana. During these days, traffic police officers suppressed 7745 different violations of Driving Regulations, this has been announced today at a press conference on “Safe road” procedure results by the deputy head of Administrative police department Bauyrzhan Sholanov.
“Over the week in the course of the operational preventive procedure, 7745 violations of Driving regulations were detected, including 1032 violations of overtaking and maneuvering rules; 450 cases of overspeeding; 95 violations creating crash situations; 620 cases of unfastened seat belts; 524 cases of using a cell phone while driving; 296 cases of entering the oncoming lane; 84 for driving in a drunken state; and 966 pedestrians were apprehended for crossing the street in an improper place”, - Bauyrzhan Sholanov told in the course of the press conference.
According to him, this operational preventive procedure was held in order to reduce the number of road traffic accidents in the city and to detect drivers who ignore the Driving regulations, astana.kz reports.
It’s worth noting that for the period of the procedure, traffic police staff was transfered to robust security regime, the number of squads on the roads were increased involving workers form the office of Administrative police department of the city Department of internal affairs.
Let us recall, that over 9 months 494 road traffic accidents were registered in Astana, where 48 people died and 532 got injuries; while over the similar period of the past year 375 accidents were registered, where 38 people died and 403 people got injuries of different severity.
