About 25 000 pupils and teachers took part in the cleanup “We’re in favor of the clean city!”

The cleanup works involved 24 320 upper-form pupils, teachers, educators, college students and education workers. This information was shared with astana.kz by the metropolitan Administration of Education.

Thus, 11 142 people took part in the cleanup in Saryarka district, 11 219 people - in Almaty district, and works in Esil district involved 1 959 people. Throughout the day they were cleaning lawns and curbs, sweeping and cleaning school territories from garbage.

It's anticipated that this Saturday 83 634 people will be involved in the citywide cleanup, as well as cleaning of school and college surrounding territories; there will be upper-form pupils, teachers, educators, college students and education workers. So, 37 458 people will work in Almaty district, 38 245 - in Saryarka district, and 7 931 people - in Esil district.

Besides, according to the press service of Astana city akim's central office, these days a youth campaign is taking place in the capital within the framework of the ecological month, as part of which 24 monuments have been cleaned and put in order. Over the first days of the campaign schoolchildren and metropolitan college students held cleanups within the territory of 8 monuments. They cleaned monuments of participants of the Great Patriotic war in Zhenis avenue, Saken Seifullin, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Abay Kunanbayev and others. Schoolchildren and students cleaned monuments' basements, washed the stones, cleaned territories surrounding the monuments. In addition, schoolchildren read poems, sang songs of the war years, and an excursion in Seifullin Museum was organized for them. At the same time a "Green Bus" campaign was taking place, where its participants distributed flyers calling citizens to take part in the cleanups.
