About 1,000 people celebrate Republic Day in Türkiye

On the occasion of October 25 Republic Day, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Türkiye held a diplomatic reception with a concert programme and Kazakh traditional dishes served, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Around 1,000 people visited the event. Among the guests were prominent government and public figures,  intellectuals  from both countries, foreign diplomats, and the Kazakh diaspora.

In his congratulatory speech, Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, highlighted Kazakhstan's dynamic development and its status as a key state among the Turkic-speaking countries.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all Happy Republic Day! We are pleased to note that Türkiye was the first country to recognize Kazakhstan's independence. In this context, I would like to remind the Kazakh folk wisdom "there will be no life without unity". It is my hope that the unity and solidarity between Turkic states will continue to strengthen on a daily basis, and we will continue our journey together," the Turkish politician said.

The event featured traditional Kazakh cuisine, including kazy, karta, zhaya and shuzhyk (horse meat delicacies). Additionally, traditional sweets were provided for attendees to enjoy, including zhent, irimshik (dried cheese balls) and kurt (dried cheese and whey), baursaks (fried dough balls), pilaf and meat dishes.

The highlight of the buffet was a cake symbolizing the Republic Day holiday. The audience was entertained by local artists, singers and musicians, as well as Kazakh students studying at universities in Ankara.
