Abai Studies Centre opened in Astana

ASTANA. February 23. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ Today the Kazakh-Russian University hailed a solemn opening ceremony of the Abai Studies Centre. The opening of the centre coincided with the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
The centre comprises a library, an expo hall, and a video hall. The part of exponents is presented by the Republican Literary and Memorial House Museum of Abai in Semipalatinsk.
"This is not by accident the centre is opened on the ground of our University. As is known, Abai always maintained contacts with Russia; he loved the Russian literature and culture," executive director of the KRU, Professor Abdygali Dzhandigulov said.
