A. Yessentugelov: Diversification of economy - main challenge for Kazakhstan

According to Doctor of Economics Arystan Yessentugelov, oil plays key role in our economy since it (economy - author) depends on production and sale of oil. "Our economy has been developing dynamically due to oil export, which served as an "airbag" in crisis period too", he noted.

"It should be noted that we need development and structural modernization of other sectors of Kazakhstan economy under the strategy of forced oil production. We should not rely only on huge natural resources bringing large incomes while world economic conjuncture is positive", he highlighted.

As A. Yessentugelov stressed, there is no more urgent and necessary challenge for Kazakhstan than diversification of  economy and raising its competitiveness,  mastering of new kinds of ready products, primarily high-technological ones, modernization of main funds of non-primary sector and training highly-qualified personnel.
