KHORGOS. KAZINFORM - President of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company" JSC Askar Mamin and the Mayor of Almaty region have visited "Altynkol" station and the Kazakh-Chinese border area on which territory of the Khorgos International Center of Boundary Cooperation and the special economic zone "Khorgos - East gates" are being built.

"Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC" chairman A. Mamin and regional Akim A. Batalov familiarized with the construction of a "dry port" which is being erected near Altynkol station. It is planned to construct a large logistics center of cross-border importance which will attract investors from all over the world. "Dry port" near Altynkol station is a unique project which will develop and expand economic relations of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the Eurasian continent with China and the countries of Southeast Asia," stressed Amandyk Batalov. "The International Centre of Boundary Cooperation" Khorgos "and a free economic zone "Khorgos - East Gate" were the next objects visited by A. Mamin and A.Batalov. Passenger terminal has a capacity of 10,400 people, and cargo terminal - 500 vehicles per day. Here the guests got acquainted with the implementation of the first transnational project. At the conclusion of the visit, President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Almaty regional Akim met with the major investors interested in "Khorgos - East Gates" economic zone. The Khorgos International Center of Boundary Cooperation has being implemented on the initiative of the Presidents of Kazakhstan and China and is aimed at promoting cross-border trade and economic, scientific and technical collaboration.
