A 17-car pileup occured during a snowstorm in Akmola region

ASTANA. February 18. KAZINFORM 17 cars collided at the 85th kilometer of Astana-Petropavlovsk highway on Thursday; press service of the internal affairs department of Akmola region told Kazinform.
The accident occurred when an Iveco hit a Toyota Previa, which suddenly stopped on the highway because of poor visibility. Police assumes that the driver of the second vehicle did not take into account the weather conditions and chose the wrong speed.
Other 15 cars travelling at inappropriate speeds crashed into each other. As a result two people were injured.
