9 killed, 18 injured in road mishap in India-controlled Kashmir
NEW DELHI. August 5. KAZINFORM At least nine people were killed and 18 others were injured in a major road mishap in the India- controlled Kashmir Thursday, a senior police official said, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"The mishap happened when a matador (jeep) in which the victims were traveling skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle while negotiating a curve in the northern state's Doda district," the official said, adding "all the nine died on the spot while those injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of eight are said to be serious."
