858 human traffic victims fixed for last 8 years in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. September 6. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan people do not fall into slavery abroad for many years, in most cases, they are exploited by own countrymen," national coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kazakhstan Aliya Alikova informed during the national dialogue between the law enforcement agencies and NGOs in the fight against human trafficking in Kazakhstan.
According to her, 858 identified victims of human trafficking were recorded for the last 8 years in Kazakhstan. Some of them were also found outside the territory of the country and were sent to the organization to return to their homeland.
According to the IOM, citizens of Russia and even China were also exploited in the territory of Kazakhstan. Most often, this is labor exploitation.
About 10% of human trafficking victims from Kazakhstan get into Russia, Turkey, UAE, Israel, Thailand, Germany, China, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Greece and Lebanon.
