74 pilot whales stranded in New Zealand's Northland

WELLINGTON. September 22. KAZINFORM Up to 74 pilot whales were stranded in New Zealand's Northland on Wednesday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

Volunteers were being sought to save whales who have stranded at Spirits Bay north of Kaitaia.

Seventy-four pilot whales were spread across 2 km of beach, Newstalk ZB radio reported.

Among them, 49 were alive and 25 dead, with more still stranding.
