ASTANA. April 3. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Voter turnout in Kazakhstan's snap presidential elections is much higher than in previous presidential elections. Member of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Tatyana Okhlopkova said it at the briefing in Astana.
"7 million, 56 thousand and 748 citizens of Kazakhstan have already voted as of 16:00 p.m. April 3. This is 76.9 percent voters," she said.
According to her, voter turnout in Akmola region is 81,6%, Aktobe region - 78,5 %, Almaty region - 90,9%, Atyrau region - 84%, East Kazakhstan region - 82,2%, Zhambyl region - 85,7%, West Kazakhstan region - 67,8%, Karaganda region - 79%, Kostanay region - 85,5%, Kyzylorda region - 87,1%, Mangystau region - 75,9%, Pavlodar region - 76,5%, North Kazakhstan region - 83,6%, South Kazakhstan region - 80,3%, Astana - 45,1%, Almaty - 47,3%.
