7,500 highways to be paved in Kazakhstan by 2020
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - 7,500 new roads are to be paved in Kazakhstan by 2020, according to deputy chairman of the Board of National Company "KazAvtoZhol" JSC Ulan Alipov.
"Linking the Kazakh capital Astana with all regions of Kazakhstan will help develop small provinces of the country and eliminate regional disproportions. 7,500 new highways are to be paved or repaired in Kazakhstan within the state program of transport infrastructure development and integration," Mr. Alipov said at a press conference at KazMedia Center on Thursday. In his words, 200,000 new jobs will be created within the program. "Regional hubs of Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Atyrau will be linked with Astana by 2020 within the framework of the "Nurly zhol - Path to the future" program," Mr. Alipov added.
