6 veterans from Kazakhstan will partake in Victory Parade in Moscow
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - May 8-10 Kazakhstani veterans of the Great Patriotic War will take part in a military parade on the Red Square and a number of other festive events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Defense. Six veterans and six accompanying persons from Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Almaty and South Kazakhstan regions will go to Moscow. At the same time, more than 250 veterans of the Great Patriotic War from 14 regions of the country and the cities of Astana and Almaty will be the guests of honor at the festivities which will be held May 6-9 in the capital of Kazakhstan. As of April the current year, 4715 veterans live in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Total more than one million four hundred Kazakhstan people were conscripted into the Soviet army. And more than half of them have died a heroic death on the battlefields and in captivity in Nazi concentration camps. At the same time, Kazakhstan provided the Soviet army with fuel, weapons, ammunition, food and clothing.
