6 new grain elevators planned to be launched by yearend
ASTANA. August 31. KAZINFORM It is planned to launch 6 grain elevators in Kazakhstan by the end of 2012, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan informs.
"It is planned to launch 6 grain elevators with the total storage capacity of 115 thousand tons by the end of this year, including those to be launched within the framework of "KazAgro" Holding - 1 grain storage for 14 thousand tons," the statement of the Ministry reads.
Besides, the capacities of existing grain storages will be modernized and expanded. Moreover, "KazAgroFinance" plans to build and modernize grain elevators with the capacities of 800 thousand tons through financing of big and medium agricultural producers. "Food Corporation" JSC will finance construction of new and purchasing of existing grain storages for 700 thousand tons.
According to the information of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the total capacity of grain storage makes 22.9 million tons in the country. It will reach 23.1 million tons this year after launch of constructed elevators.
The information posted on www.pm.kz reads that the total capacity of grain storage taking into consideration newly launched capacities in the country is enough for storing grain this season.
