6 more Kazakh athletes to compete at ITTF event in Doha

The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025 is set to run in Qatar on May 17-25, where athletes will vie for medals in singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles events, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.

A total of 128 table tennis players will take part in the singles events, including 32 seeded players, while 64 doubles teams, with 16 seeded pairs, will compete as well.

Initially, Kazakhstan was set to have three athletes competing, however, six more have been added to the team.

The following players will compete for medals: Kirill Gerassimenko (singles), Aidos Kenzhigulov and Sanzhar Zhubanov (men’s doubles), Sarvinoz Mirkadirova and Zauresh Akasheva (women’s doubles), Vladislav Zakharov and Bakdaulet Akimali (men’s doubles), Iskender Kharki and Angelina Romanovskaya (mixed doubles).

As reported earlier, Kazakhstan's table tennis player Zhaniya Bekmukhambetova has secured two medals at the WTT Youth Contender in Nevsehir, Türkiye.
