597 pardoned legislatively in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM "597 people were pardoned legislatively in Kazakhstan," Chairman of the Supervisory Penal Chamber of the Kazakh Supreme Court Akyltai Kassimov told the press conference on the issues of the enforcement of the "Amnesty Law in connection with the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence".

A.Kassimov and Supreme Court judge Morayk Shegenov explained the amnesty act usage procedure by the examples of proceedings in a criminal case against Askar Kulbayev, who knocked down and killed an under-age girl by a car in Shymkent, and a criminal case of well-known human right activist Eugene Zhovtis.
