5 Kazakhstanis storm into Women's Boxing World Championship quarterfinal in Serbia
Another competition day at the Women's World Boxing Championship wrapped up in Niš, Serbia, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.
Six Kazakh athletes stepped into the ring and five of them secured spots in the quarterfinals: Alua Balkibekova (50 kg), Zhaina Shekerbekova (54 kg), Victoria Gracheva (60 kg), Aida Abikeeva (63 kg), and Zhasmin Kizatova (66 kg).
Gulsaya Yerzhan (81 kg) wrapped up her participation at the tournament after losing to the Chinese boxer.
Today, March 12, four bouts featuring the Kazakh boxers will take place at the tournament:
● 48 kg: Nazym Kyzaibay vs Nicole Durikova (Slovakia)
● 57 kg: Karina Ibragimova vs Valeria Mendoza (Columbia)
● 70 kg: Natalya Bogdanova vs Dunia Martinez (Spain)
● 75 kg: Nadezhda Ryabets vs Aminata Koroma (Sierra Leone)
The matches are set to kick off at 18:00 pm Astana time.
As reported earlier, Kazakhstan has clinched two victories on the opening day of Women's Boxing World Championship in Serbia.
