5,000 police, interior troops to ensure CSTO summit security

BISHKEK. July 30. KAZINFORM About 5,000 police officers and servicemen of the republic's Interior Troops will ensure security of the participants and guests of the informal summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) that will be held in Kyrgyzstan on July 31 - August 1, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

"We have already taken a number of practical measures needed in such cases for ensuring public security," the ministry specified. "All preventive measures aimed at strengthening the law and order and ensuring road safety have been taken," it said.

The Interior Ministry has called on the citizens of Kyrgyzstan and tourists that are currently holidaying on the Lake Issyk-Kul shore to treat "with understanding" the temporary bans and restrictions introduced for the period of the summit.

All heads of the CSTO member states, as well as CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha intend to take part in the summit that will be held at the state residence in the Cholpon-Ata city on the shore of the resort Lake Issyk-Kul, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
