5.0-Magnitude earthquake hits Los Angeles area

LOS ANGELES. May 18. KAZINFORM A magnitude 5.0 earthquake hit the Los Angeles area Sunday evening, with a magnitude 3.1 aftershock minutes later, seismologists at the California Institute of Technology said; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The moderate earthquake occurred shortly before 8:40 p.m. local time with the epicenter under a South Los Angeles suburb near the Los Angeles International Airport.
The earthquake lasted about 10 to 15 seconds and was felt across the Los Angeles area, witnesses said; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
