40 high-tech plants to be built in industrial park of Astana

ASTANA. August 10. KAZINFORM Construction of 40 high-tech plants is currently underway in the territory of the industrial park of "Astana - New City" Special Economic Zone, the head of the department for administration of "Astana - New City" special economic zone Meder Maselov said in his interview for PM.kz site.

"The work on implementation of projects in the territory of the industrial park of the SEZ is conducted. In particular, more than 40 plants are under construction. Seven of them have already been launched. About 5 plants will be commissioned by the yearend. These are quite big investment projects aimed at production of high-tech products for the engineering, tool building sectors and construction materials industry," the head of the department said.

He also noted that jointly with investors the work on implementation of the cooperation memorandums and one investment proposal signed within the framework of the 3rd International Investment Forum "Astana Invest 2012" was intensified.

M.Maselov said that 244 billion tenge was invested to the stock capital of Astana over the first half of 2012. This is 31% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The head of the department for the SEZ administration also told that the Investor Service Center plaid an active role in attraction of investments. TheCenterfunctionson"one-stopshop" principle.

"The akimat of Astana takes active part in attraction of investments. The Investors Service Center was established in the city in November last year. Every investor can receive support of the local executive bodies in resolving the issues arising in the course of implementation of an investment project whether it is construction or a plant or multistory residential complex," Meder Maselov said.

He also noted that apart from attraction of foreign and national investments to the city economy, one of the main goals of the Investors Service Center was creation of favorable investment climate.

An investment club for foreign investors, representatives of state bodies, financial institutions and business communities is planned to be established in Astana as well. The members of this club will consider projects requiring investments.
