4 new cases of sleeping dropsy reported in Kazakh village

KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM - The number of sleeping dropsy cases is rising in Kalachi village in Akmola region as 4 more people have been hospitalized over the past two days.

According to reports, paramedics hospitalized 4 adults diagnosed with sleeping dropsy on December 21-22. They are currently undergoing treatment. It was reported earlier that governor of Akmola region Sergei Kulagin paid a visit to the village on December 10 and promised to resettle the villagers at the earliest opportunity. "The point at issue now is to find money to relocate people from the villages of Kalachi and Krasnogorsky in next two years," he said at the meeting with the villagers.
