4 mln people received social payments in 2009 – G. Abdykalikova

ASTANA. January 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Last year about 4 mln people received social payments from the national budget that made about a quarter of the Kazakhstan's population; Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova has said it today at the Governmental Hour in the Majilis.

"The size of state social payments has been increased: average size of disability payments increased from KZT 9,331 in 2007 to KZT 14,094 in 2009; payments on loss of breadwinner increased from KZT 8,507 to KZT 12,534", the Minister said.

About 410 thousand families received lump-sum benefits on birth of a child and monthly child care allowances. Over 1.2 mln people received special state payments sized from 1 to 15 minimum calculation indexes.

KZT 1.2 bln was additionally allocated from the national budget for the support of poor families whereas KZT 2.1 bln was allotted for child allowance. All this let render an additional support to over 1 mln people in Kazakhstan.
