38th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers begins its work today
ASTANA. June 28. KAZINFORM The 38th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers begins its work today at the Palace of Independence in Astana.
Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to address the participants with his welcoming speech.
Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, chairman of the 37th session - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Khamrokhon Zarifi and chairmen of Asian, African and Arab groups are planned to present their reports.
The closing ceremony will be held on June 30. The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and chairman of the 38th session will speak at the closing ceremony. After it the press conference is expected to be held.
The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations, with 57 member states. The organization attempts to be the collective voice of the Muslim world and attempts to safeguard the interests and ensure the progress and well-being of Muslims. The OIC is the second largest international organisation after the United Nations.
