3.2 mln internet users registered in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. June 23. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ Number of Internet users in Kazakhstan reached 3.2 mln people. Executive Director of the National Telecommunications Association Asylbek Hairushev said today at the opening of Telecom-2010 annual forum. Noting the tendency of growth at the telecommunications market, he said that the number of wide-band internet users made 1.6 mln people.
The number of mobile subscribers varies. Thus, some operators think it depends on number of sold SIM cards while others count real users of the mobile communications. The official figure of mobile subscribers in Kazakhstan makes 16 mln (92 out of 100 citizens).
The total income of telecommunications sector in 2009 made KZT 441.3 bln that is 8.3% higher against 2008.
