27th session of Council of Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of CIS member-states held in Aktau
ASTANA. September 24. KAZINFORM The 27th session of the Council of Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of CIS member-states took place in Aktau, the press-service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan said.
Head of the National Security Committee, General-Lieutenant Amangeldy Shardarbayev opened the session. In the course of the meeting the heads of special services and delegations from CIS countries discussed the issues on fight against terrorism and extremism, organized criminality, drug trafficking as well as rising of effectiveness of information and practical mutual cooperation of security bodies.
Over 20 important issues were considered on the agenda of the meeting including improvement of activity for Antiterrorist Center of CIS member-states under the new edition of Strategy on Cooperation of Special Bodies in information countermeasures to terrorism and other manifestation of violent extremism including execution progress of a number of interstate programs.
The Council of Heads of the Security and Special Services of the CIS member states was founded by the Council of the Heads of State on March 28, 1997 to strengthen cooperation and coordinate actions in combating international organized crime.
