267 houses flooded in Mustafin village of Karaganda region

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - 267 houses are flooded in Mustafin village in Karaganda region, the committee for emergency situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan informs.

"267 houses are still flooded in Mustafin village in Bukhar-Zharaus district of Karaganda region. The rescue operations are being held in the region," the statement reads.

791 people have been evacuated from Samarka village of Abai district. They are accommodated in the evacuation center in Sarepka village. 33 people have been evacuated from Prudy village and 29 people evacuated from Karagoga village.

Besides, 171 houses are still flooded in Chkalovo, Kyzylzhar, Sadovoe, Intumak, Aktobe villages. However, the water level is lowering now. The evacuated residents of Aktobe village are returning.

The residents of Kanatai and Kertindy villages of Nura district are also returning home. But 291 residents cannot come back because of the flood yet.

Thanks to the efforts of the rescue teams people return to their houses every day.

However, 586 houses are still considered flooded including 44 in Akmola region, 541 in Karaganda region (267 of them in Mustafin village) and one house of the suburbs of Petropavlovsk.

The work on repair of the damaged roads, bridges and facilities is underway.
