2026 World Cup Daily: Matches for today

Day 6 of the tournament will feature four group-stage matches as teams in Groups I and J begin their World Cup campaigns.

The action gets underway in Group I, where France will take on Senegal at 12:00 am Astana time. Three hours later, Iraq will face Norway in the second match of the group.

In Group J, world champions Argentina will begin their tournament against Algeria at 6:00 am Astana time. The day's schedule will conclude with Austria taking on Jordan at 9:00 am.

The final match of the day will see Portugal face DR Congo in a Group K encounter at 22:00 pm Astana time.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and will run through July 19.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the fifth day of the tournament ended without a winner in any of the four matches, as Groups G and H opened their campaigns with a series of draws.
