2025 Asian Winter Games: What it's like inside Athletes' Village
The ninth-edition of the Asian Winter Games will take place from February 7 to 14, 2025, in Harbin, China, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to the Games’ official website harbin2025.com, up to 900 athletes from 24 countries have been accommodated at the Harbin Victories Hotel, one of three designated Athletes' Villages.
The four-star Harbin Victories Hotel with 39 floors has a total area of 60,000 sq.m., housing 615 guest rooms, a conference hall, public catering facilities, a shopping mall and gyms.
The hotel’s restaurant seats 400 people, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper for 20 hours, with its menus spanning various types of cuisine, including Chinese, Southeast Asian and European. The Athletes' Village emphasized it closely monitors the use, storage and transportation of foods as well as athletes’ nutrition.
The hotel’s rooms have enough space and light, with desks and other furniture, humidifiers, separate WC, showers and wash-hand-stands.
The special first aid station in the Athletes' Village is equipped with eight departments, including internal diseases, surgical, ultrasound ones and a pharmacy.
The Athletes' Village also has a media center, conference hall for delegation heads, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) office, doping control station, meditation rooms as well as functional areas.
The ninth-edition of the Asian Winter Games will take place from February 7 to 14, 2025, in Harbin, China, with 64 sets of medals in 11 sports are up for grabs.
As earlier reported, Abzal Azhgaliyev, Olga Tikhonova, Malika Yermek and Merssaid Zhaksybayev of Kazakhstan finished first, leaving Japan and Taipei behind, in the Mixed Team 2000m Relay quarterfinal at the 9th Asian Winter Games.
