2013 GDP growth likely to be 6% - NB chairman K.Kelimbetov
ASTANA . December 23. KAZINFORM - According to preliminary estimates, GDP growth in the current year will be 6%, the chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kelimbetov said at a press conference in the Central Communications Center.
"In general, this economic year's results are rather good, GDP growth is likely to make 6%. By the Cabinet's preliminary data, inflation is 5%,"- K.Kelimbetov said.
The head of the National Bank underscored it was the lowest rate of inflation in the history of independent Kazakhstan, which means the government and the National Bank have pursued sound macroeconomic policies, in particular, monetary and lending policies.
K.Kelimbetov added that the 15% growth of deposits was evidence to the population's confidence in the national financial sector.
